If you’re an adult that has done some serious living, you know the obvious – there’s no certainty.
No matter how hard you’ve tried to live risk-free, reality always wins; with your suffering commensurate with how well you adapt.
(You can’t alter reality so stop trying. Your attempts make you look childish.)
However, you’re not without options, plenty of them. But let’s narrow this down.
If you’re seeking the calm and self-control that characterizes maturity, you must accept reality.
They’re no excuses or exceptions.
It doesn’t matter how contrary to your liking a particular person or situation may be, you must give this reality space to exist (in your own head).
Stop fighting what you know is true. It only leads to torment.
Learn to detach and see things as they are while extracting insight and value.
This means controlling your emotions and developing focus. Your lack of insight is the only thing holding you back.
Once you discover who you are, anything is possible.
The choice is yours.
If you want to overcome the paralyzing fear of uncertainty and realize your true potential, self-acceptance is the only way.
Later,
Gary
